I feel and sense it just as much as I see it - sometimes painting intuitively and other times remembering special places I’ve visited - always in hopes of channeling the soulfulness and beauty of life and nature.

Hello!

  • Painting by Amy Masterman

I believe that beauty uplifts us and connects us to our truest selves. My paintings are meant to express this with the hope that they'll resonate with your truest self. Nature is infinitely inspiring for me - from the veins of a backlit flower petal to a sweeping bucolic vista. It feels like the counterpart to the spiritual realm: the physical world representing the divine. An illuminated cloud sparks awe; a brilliant aqua wave elicits an equally beautiful swell of love. Painting is deeply satisfying to me. I hope you enjoy what you see.

On the heels of closing the gallery I owned in Chestnut Hill for 5 years, which featured work by over 85 local artists, I started painting. Again. I’ve always painted (my mom was an artist and had a studio in our home), but I never really took it seriously. When my life changed suddenly (someone offered 4x the rent and we had to vacate in 30 days!), I just naturally picked up the brush. A color junkie, I wanted to experiment - a lifetime of being a keen observer, a dedicated hiker, and a “simple pleasures” gal provided what feels like limitless inspiration.

Home is sacred to me… and it’s a fun place to play! I’ve helped many people choose art for their spaces, creating gallery walls or shelf arrangements with selections from the gallery (and sometimes my own one-offs), and I’ve helped clients refresh rooms with art, decor, or a new layout. I’m happy to advise you on art purchases, whether my pieces or pieces by other artists (I know many!). If you’re local, I’m available for in-home art & design/decor consults. “You transformed my condo, which has transformed my life.” - Dale, a client
